A Decca Records foi fundada primeiro na Inglaterra, em 1929, e estabeleceu sua base nos Estados Unidos em 1934. Com a Segunda Guerra Mundial, a ligação entre as duas "facções" da gravadora foi interrompida, e cada uma evoluiu do seu próprio jeito. A contraparte americana da Decca, portanto, teve uma influência decisiva num daqueles muitos gêneros que tiveram origem lá nas terrinhas do Tio Sam: o country.

Em seu primeiro ano de funcionamento, a gravadora já formava seu próprio plantel de cantores caipiras e com o passar do tempo, foi expandindo dentro desta área. Nomes como Ernest Tubb, Bill Monroe, Patsy Cline e Loreta Lynn passaram pelos estúdios de gravação da Decca. E é exatamente disto que este post trata: três discos que cobrem uma extensiva contribuição à música country, que cobre quatro décadas, indo de 1934 a 1973.
