Não há realmente muito o que eu possa dizer sobre Willie Nelson que já não tenha sido dito. Porém, algumas constatações se fazem necessárias: este homem é um dos maiores nomes da música country, e um dos pioneiros do outlaw country, junto com Johnny Cash e Waylon Jennings. Outra coisa que preciso dizer é que este cidadão é como vinho e uísque: quando mais velho, melhor.

Isto é o que temos visto em discos como: Across The Borderline, de 1993; Run That By Me One More Time, gravado junto com Ray Price em 2003; e Songbird, um finíssimo álbum produzido por Ryan Adams em 2006.

Nesse meio, o bom e velho Willie teve tempo pra capturar uma bela pérola ao vivo, junto de seus camaradas. Trata-se de Outlaws and Angels, cd que posto aqui, gravado em 2004. O disco conta com nomes de peso nas participações especiais, tais como: Al Green, Carole King, Keith Richards, Jerry Lee Lewis e Merle Haggard, entre outros coadjuvantes de luxo que figuram em meio a esta constelação de músicos.
